Mind Health and Psychotherapy

It is well established that psychological well-being is crucial to engaging effectively in all aspects of life. Psychotherapy can offer you a fresh perspective with greater insight into the circumstances you currently find yourself in, alongside an increased understanding of the choices you’ve made throughout your life, and how your particular difficulties have emerged. This new insight can allow you to make healthier choices in the future. However I also realise that life experiences and their impact can be difficult to manage especially for those who have experienced severe trauma, for those who have been victims of crime, loss or have witnessed events in the course of their job. Specialised treatment if offered for particularly life changing experiences.

I believe that that foundation of psychotherapy lies in a warm and supportive relationship between client and therapist that enables them to feel safe and explore what is troubling them. I accept that people are individuals and respond differently to different approaches. I therefore customise a treatment plan according to best practice, and collaborate with individual clients in order to tailor a form of therapy which best suits a person’s aims and needs.

I come from various psychology training backgrounds including; humanistic, psychodynamic, existential and cognitive behavioural. I also have extensive training in family, couples, Theraplay and Diadic developmental psychotherapy.
